Great interview!
James is a great kid! Happy to have him at GW!
Also happy to hear Keegan is doing the lords work and introducing Pink Floyd to the locker room, haha!
GW Men's Hoops » GW Beats Ohio Game » 11/21/2023 9:09 am |
Ohio is a good team. And I think this will be a great game. I took a peek at their message board and on their GW game thread saw this:
“Russ said during the Detroit game that Miles had a "lower body injury" but it "wasn't expected to be long term." The only word on IJ, according to Russ, was he was "unavailable." Boals told Marty after the game we're "banged up." A.J. briefly went to the locker room with his shoulder, Mitchell took a hard hit when he ran into a screen, Cornish had his left wrist wrapped and it looked like the Wiz tweaked his knee. No one seemed to have his minutes limited but with only nine scholarship players available at the moment we're a couple of injuries from a major problem.”
Might help us a bit if they are dealing with some injuries.

Hofstra-St. Mary’s looking like a big mid-major matchup tonight. If the Pride can somehow come out on top, would make the GW loss look pretty good (I think it’s already a decent loss considering where the program is at).
Didn’t realize Princeton and Iona, who Hofstra also beat, were expected to win both their leagues.

Losses always hurt, but this was a “good” one. Keeping it close on the road with a very good team. Congrats to James on one hell of a night!

Even with the ESPN+ technical difficulties in the second half and even though it was a DII school, that felt good to watch! And kudos to all the students for showing up!

Just wondering out of curiosity…. my GF and I are going to Hawaii this Christmas and we are going to those Diamond Head Classic games. Anyone else going?

Shit…. I’m really sad to see you go, GWRising. I’m a lurker here and don’t post much, but I have always enjoyed your insights into the program.

Bad news gentlemen, it appears as though Becker is no longer in the mix according to very good sources. These sources claim there was mutual interest but GW was not willing to do what it takes to get him here - I read that to mean a commitment on salary or charters or other things. Hope they have a rabbit up their sleeve besides Caputo.
Really disappointed to hear that… It looks like the school may not be stepping up to the plate like rest of the A10.

Turned off the Baylor-Ok State FB game to watch this. Let’s see how disappointed or pleasantly surprised I am by that decision!

Happy the Maryland game gave me hope, only for it to be crushed tonight…. Must have been the outlier. Our games against St. Francis and this showing tonight might be an accurate picture of the state of the program. Time will tell though. A lot of hoops to be played. I saw some great flashes two days ago.

I’m sure there a lot of opinions that will differ from mine but I liked him a lot and was excited when he took the helm. I thought he came off as a really stand-up, approachable, normal guy who had a great vision for the University. I liked that he seemed to care about bringing sports back and was trying to get GW Alums more involved with their alma mater. I also supported his plans to decrease enrollment and focus heavily on STEM and research without abandoning our major liberal arts.
I wish him and his family nothing but the best and am interested to see what direction the school takes in headhunting our next President.
