Tenerife ended the regular season in third, their best-ever ACB finish and will have home court advantage agianst Burgos in the best-of-three quarterfinal that starts next weekend. In the finale (a meaningless loss against second place finisher Barcelona), Tyler Cavenaugh, like most of the regulars, did not start but got 5 points in 20 mins on the court. Barca has some unknown guy named Pau Gasol who someday may make a name for himself in the sport of basketball. Tenerife won four of five games against Burgos this season (including Copa del Rey).

After being pretty much marginalized from the offense for the 2nd half of the season, Tyler Cavenaugh scored 10 clutch points (along with 9 boards) as Tenerife at home beat Barcelona to force a decisive Game 3 in their semifinal series. Game 3 will be played Friday (4pm Eastern, if the prelim schedule is correct) in the capital of the Spanish-occupied nation of Catalunya. In the other semifinal, Real Madrid and Valencia play their Game 3 decider tomorrow (Thursday).

Highlights including a tip-in and assist by Cavs.

Is Ty just a bit too slow? I have to admit. I thought he had a slightly better shot at an NBA career than Yuta. (And, I figured Pato just needed more consistency on his shot to get a spot at the end of an NBA bench.) It's great they all have had their successes, and I'm sure a lot of it is luck of the draw. But, I'm surprised Ty is not putting up bigger numbers in the Euro leagues. Still, he clearly is a gamer. 10 clutch points. Tough guy
Having watched a few of the games, I would say Tyler has been poorly used by the coaches who have put him out on the wing while the team is playing an interior offense. Most of his shots of late have come from balls being kicked back outside with the shot clock running down. Then again, this is Tenerife´s best season ever so no one is criticising the coach...

Also in the Spanish second division, KevLar scored 23 7 boards in the semis to lead his team into the finals vs Granada.

Kevin seems to be doing well.
Tyler belongs in the NBA,but assume he is making very good money while enjoying the Canary Islands lifestyle with his fiancee.

Tyler picked up three fouls in the first half to limit his court time, Three points and a board in 11 boards and as the half wound down Tyler was assigned to cover Gasol on defense. Barca 46 Tenerife 39 at halftime.

Tenerife fell apart in the third and Gasol went to town as Barca won 89-72. Tyler scored the final bucket of the season for Tenerife (a drive in the lane that was the last shot of the game by either team) and finished with 5 points.

KevLar’s team won the second division title. He averaged 8 & 6 in the final series.

Tyler Cavanaugh has left Tenerife and signed what looks like a 2-year deal with Zalgiris in Lithuania. That means that if Pato gets healthy and remains on the team, they'll be reunited for next season. I think this is good for Tyler because Martin Schiller, the Zalgiris coach, was Tyler's coach in the G-League, where Tyler had a great year with the SLC Stars.

Good find.
Guess he has seemingly given up on the NBA.
Had a great summer league with the Knicks a couple years ago,but they filled up their roster over him at his position. And guess he didn't want to try and catch on elsewhere that year.
Glad he will be reunited with a former coach and especially a healthy Patio. We'll have to follow the team for two great Colonials.

Looks like Matt Hart signed with a team in Serbia

Good for Matt. An average (at best) A-10er seems to be able to make a professional career playing professionally in Europe.

Pato and Argentina facing off against Nigeria currently on NBATV in an Olympic tuneup game. Has two threes through one quarter.

Not a great show by Argentina. Three possibilities: 1) Nigeria are the greatest team in the world (and after today and beating the USA their fans might be forgiven for jumping to that premature conclusion); 2) Argentina´s coach is keeping his cards very close to his chest and not letting prying eyes get an idea of what he is really planning; or 3) Argentina sucks donkey dong and will be looking for a new coach before the Olympic Flame is extinguished.
On the plus side, Pato looks 100% healthy and ready for the Games.

Not sure if this belongs here, but TJ Thompson was just promoted to Assistant Coach at Rutgers.
