On an otherwise dismal day for GW basketball, some positive news.
It seems Tyler has overcome the torn ligaments in his ankle and resumed play in the EuroLeague. It looks like he is being eased in with and increasing amount of minutes in each game.
Last night, Yuta had a career game in the G League. 40 pts, 5 rebs on 14-20 shooting and 8-11 from distance. This follows two consecutive double doubles. Memphis Hustle is 20-6 this season and leading the Western Division.

Good news on both. Hope to see Yuta get called back up to the Grizzlies soon - maybe after they move some guys at the deadline or after some buyouts soon after.

Thanks, this is really appreciated and well-received news after yesterday's debacle.
Good to know Tyler is back. And Yuta is amazing in G League.
At this point, wonder if his second year two-way contract with Grizzlies, who seem to have a logjam
of players, is good for Yuta? Some other team might have snapped him up.

Yuta had 9 points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3-pt, 2-2 FT), 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 steal in 12 minutes (+3), although the Grizzlies fell to the 76ers 119-107. I believe he saw some action in the first half but still much was in garbage time when Philadelphia was far away in the lead. They were up 31 I think going into the 4th. Still, hope this means he will see more time in the future as he deserves it. He has been killing it in the G league.

EuroLeague is a few games into the new season and here's an update:
Tyler Cavanaugh, playing for Tenerife, hasn't cracked the starting line-up, but has gradually increased his minutes, getting 21 minutes, 8 pts, and 5 rebs in the last closely contested game. Tenerife is now 5-0.
I couldn't find Pato in the box scores for Zalgaris, and the article below points out why-- didn't fully recover from last year's injury, and required another surgery that will keep him out for another six weeks. He's had some hard luck recently, so let's hope he gets back into full swing soon.
Kevin Larsen is the starting Center for Breogan (Spanish League) and had 8 pts and 4 rebs for the 1-0 team. I had thought that Paul Jorgenson was on this team, but he doesn't seem to be on any EuroLeague roster, so not sure what happened there.
Big question mark as to what Yuta will do. The local (Memphis) papers seem to think that the Grizzlies will let him go, as he is a restricted free agent, but until they officially do so, not clear where he'll wind up. I know the NBA is his first choice.

3,775 page tome on the NBA can spare some pages for profiles/data on GW players Patricio Garino, Tyler Cavanaugh and Yuta Watanabe.

Quick post-NBA Draft update--
Grizzlies signed two players to two-way contracts, so they appear to be moving on from Yuta. Free Agency starts tomorrow-- may get a hint what lies next for Yuta.
In EuroLeague - Tyler has broken in to the starting line-up in the last few games. In last game he had 16 pts and 6 boards on --7 shooting, and led the team in minutes with 33. His Tenerife team is now 9-1.

Denmark scored a huge EuroBasket upset at Lithuania on Friday (think USF beating Virginia). KevLar was not on the roster, however. He is with Breogan Basket based in Lugo, Galicia (or "Spanish-occupied Galicia" if you prefer) in Spain´s second division.

Not much news on how Yuta is doing at Raptor's training camp; most short blips allude to his slim chance of making the roster. Toronto's first exhibition game versus Charlotte will be nationally televised on NBATV tomorrow night at 7PM (ET). Hopefully, we'll get more than just a glimpse of Yuta, and some insight on his chances.

For you early risers, Tyler Cavanaugh and second-place Tenerife are up late in the 2nd quater at home against Andorra. Tyler starts and gets plenty of mins, although Tenerife is rotating lots of players today (they have another game mid-week). And unlike GW, on offense Tenerife moves the ball around the court with lots of passes...

It appears Yuta is getting his first minutes playing for the Raptors this season. In 7 minutes at the half he is 0-1 shooting (a three pointer), 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 foul. Let’s hope he doubles those minutes in the second half.

Tyler's game was televised yesterday but I only got to see a few minutes. His team lost by two in a big upset. Tyler's team fell to 14-4 with the loss and the winners improved to 3-15. Tyler played 28 minutes, shot 5-6 from the floor missing his only three point attempt, grabbed 10 rebounds and handed out 5 assists. Unfortunately his only shot attempt I was able to see was his lone miss on the day so maybe it would be best if I stayed away.

Good find.
Where was Tyler's game televised?
