RevsBall 2025 schedule is out

While the basketball team is not yet making me wonder when pitchers and catchers report, I am also a 49ers fan, so...
Baseball has released its 2025 schedule. The season opens with three games Feb 14-16 in Los Angeles (well, in Irvine) against traditional national powerhouse U$C. The annual trip to UVa is early this year (Feb 19, pack your mittens) and the home opener is Feb 21 vs Holy Cross. That School Down the Street is on the schedule twice (Feb 25 at Tucker, mid-May at their clearly inferior facility). A10 play opens against Fordham at home March 14. Full schedule here:

Re: RevsBall 2025 schedule is out

Opening Day didn´t exactly go well for GW, albeit against a U$C team that has traditionally had one of the highest payrolls in baseball dating back to the early 1970´s. Still, a bit worrying when your Opening Day starter spots the other team a 10-run lead AND cannot get out of the 1st inning. Game two later today in Irvine, available on something called B1G+ (USA only).

Well, if the pitching was a worry on Opening Day, the base running on day 2 cost them a chance to beat a national powerhouse. How bad was the base running? Let´s put it this way, the kangaroo court piggy bank is now filled to the brim. A couple guys picked off, some caught stealing. And then they left the bases loaded down one in the 8th. And lose by a single run. Still, made U$C go deep in to its bullpen today, so not a bad performance.

Re: RevsBall 2025 schedule is out

GW swept (in spite of itself) by U$C. If boneheaded base running hurt in game 2, in game 3 boneheaded batting and base running killed-- particularly down two in the top of the 8th with no outs and runners on 1st and 2nd I am not at all clear why GW squared to bunt... with an 0-2 count. Yes, U$C´s closer shut things down with 5 Ks in the last two innings, but still. No shame in being swept by the Trojans, but this could just have easily been a series win. GW won´t play another team this good (except maybe for the one-off game at UVa) so lots of positives to take from the series in California.
