The only reason I can think of why his agent would put thst out there now is to pressure another school to make a bigger offer.

If I remember correctly, that was the same reporter who tweeted that Slim was on a visit last season. Hopefully the Rutgers transfer (if he commits) is better than the last Williams we had that was also from Chicago and also went to Simeon for HS. His shooting stats are really rough in his career. He also missed some time a couple seasons ago with an achilles injury. Based on his highlights, it seems like he can finish well at the rim (which is also a need after this year) so maybe this can work as long as more shooting is put around him. Also, it would be interesting to see whether CC would put him at the 2 or 3. If it's on the wing, he's only 6'4". Although Williams has long arms (and is a much better defender than Drumgoole) I would hope for a bit more height there. Still, this is a guy who started for Rutgers the majority of the year and would be a solid pickup.
George Beale Jr. (Hampton) committed to UCF yesterday. Kind of like Chaikin at Lafayette, he was the only player on Hampton that looked competent when GW faced the Pirates early in the year (had 19 points against us). Would have been a good addition as a shooter, but it's clear early on this transfer season that all the power conference schools are stacking productive players, even as deep bench pieces as some opt to take a paycheck instead of playing time. Hopefully rev share (once it passes) bridges the gap a tad between the top mid-major conferences and high-major although I'm not getting my hopes up.
Some other mentions from yesterday. Prior to Butler and Harper (who are guards) it was interesting to see that many of the players that mention GW are wings. Definitely not a coincidence and makes a lot of sense.

I believe Jasai Miles (North Florida) is one of the visitors as well.
Two more guys GW expressed interest in going elsewhere - Elijah Strong to SC and Deywilk Tavarez to Loyola Chicago.
La Salle also landed a couple of local guys this week. Rob Dockery (Texas A&M) who I liked a lot from Jun's HS and Jaden Johnson (ODU) who GW offered sometime back.

Loyola also signed Xavier Amos from Wisconsin, who I think is really good. They’ve lost a lot, but (with lots of playing time to offer) they’ve singed some very solid players. Will be interesting to see how it goes for them.

Where do we think he fits. Starting 2 next to CJ or elite 6th man?
Offline
I find it hard to believe someone would transfer in-conference to be a 6th man. Maybe we go small ball next year and go CJ, Tre, Autry, Johnson, Castro? Bevins and Moss first guards off the bench?
Offline
He was the player to be named later in the Max Edwards trade.
I think he fits really nicely. Was Duq’s highest usage AND most efficient player, which is something you don’t always see.

Third Trey's a charm! The Revs just got quicker (fanbase happy) and older (CC happy.)
He must've liked the potential he saw for himself after playing us at Smitty when Castro had 27 and 13.
Like that he comes with prior experience in A10 game planning.
Keep it going CC.

I love that! This feels like a really important to get for us. Outstanding shooter, tons of experience at the college level, knows our league and our opponents.
Not sure how to handle the fact that we now have three guys named Trey/Tre.
In any case, this feels like really great news.
