There should be some good news coming shortly about a matchup on a neutral court in 2025-26 against a very prominent SEC team. Stay tuned!
Been checking back in for this since you posted it, Rising. Is this still on, or did it fall through?
Second this

As far as I know it's still on. I'll let you know if I hear anything different.

Game vs. AU is set for Nov. 12th

Of more note, check out the rest of AU’s schedule.

AU's home game vs Drexel (last year's Kenpom 183) is the kind of seemingly reasonable game I'd like to see at the Smith Center.

Very good point by Poog above.
We are hoping/dreaming about one of the majors that AU is playing.
Really challenging type of schedule we haven't sniffed for what seems anyway like
a long time.

The point is it CAN be done. Four very challenging games for AU on the road. No return games, I am sure. It's all about choice.

Rumor is it's the Florida Gators

Any timeline on when it will get made public?

No clue. We would be Florida's opponent at the Orange Bowl Classic
AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic – Capital One Orange Bowl

I had speculated (on this thread) that a neutral court game against Florida would take place in Orlando. Silly me. The neutral court will be in Sunrise, FL. Still, a very nice coup if we land it.

There are at least two games on the schedule you will likely want to see (on the road). One is against an SEC team (as mentioned earlier on a neutral court in the South) and the other against an American Athletic Conference team also at a neutral site in the Northeast. I will let GW release the actual opponents but the AAC game is in early November and the SEC game is mid-December. Schedule will not be 300s this year.

That's great news, thanks Rising. All I've ever wanted is for GW to have an average A10 OOC SOS.

I have no knowledge at all of who the AAC team is, but i would love for it to be Temple for old times sake. As someone at GW in the late 90s, I would love to see those teams play again like they did back in my day.

Well, as noted earlier in the thread, Florida owes us one for ending the season of their Dorian Finney-Smith team in the NIT.
Still, can’t help but feel this is like the Hobbs scheduling Philosophy. Play either the dregs of D1 who drag down your SOS or the most unwinnable big games. Hopefully I’ll eat those words and we can shock the world!
Edit to clarify that I’m happy with this game. Just wish we also had some LSU or Providence types, who we would be more likely to beat, in addition to this great opportunity.

Looks like the AAC neutral is USF. Pretty good get. Hodgson is a riser in the coaching ranks after what he did at Arkansas State and has done a good job in the portal during the offseason. Game can be called the Bo Zeigler bowl.
Also is it me or does it feel like many A10 teams are getting pretty decent OOC games this year? Duquesne is getting Nevada, Boise, & Villanova, Dayton has Cincy and a pretty good MTE, Davidson gets Kansas, Loyola has a H&H with Wichita, SLU gets North Texas, Grand Canyon + San Francisco, Bona getting UNC, and VCU squaring off against New Mexico and NC State are a few that come to mind. Good to see. Have to make the most of the opportunities presented.

History takes center court at Mohegan Sun Arena. It's GW vs. USF at the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off, November 8. #RaiseHigh x @hoophallu
Also who could forget the last meeting?

Think some credit here goes to Lipitz. He knew the fan base wasn’t going to endure the lineup of cupcakes of the last few years. It’s easier to tolerate the gimme games now with something more credible on the schedule, even if on neutral courts. As many of us said, this was never something we had to just “accept,” it was a choice. Glad to see the change. Very pleased with the OOC that is coming together.

Well done GW.
