Nice ideas, but I think we are living in a dream world. It's too late to go back in college basketball and football. Let's be honest. Men's college basketball and football sports are essentially pro sports. Money, money, money. When was the last player declared academically ineligible? Colleges can no longer tell players to get an education and then use that degree to get a good job to help your family financially. Players now ask when they are beinig recruited how much will they get paid . Why wait. many of their families could use the money now and not have to wait to use a college degree to get a job that pays them 6 figures a year. College athletes, who aren't ready for the NBA, are staying in school because they can earn more money in school than playing anywhere else. And why should coaches get paid millions while players are not allowed play for a year if they go to a new team? Colleges are hiring players to represent their schools. The first question of may recruits and their familes: What's the pay? The players aren't students first. It's a joke when the NCAA talks about student-athletes. I think we need start coming up with ideas about how big money college sports will deal with collective bargaining, unions, salaried players and salary caps etc.
Thanks for reading.

Love the optimism in the  discussion of winning first two in A-10 Tournament.
How about 3 wins the tournament.
Let's think big and bring back memories of the 1960-61 season. We entered the Southern Conference Tournament with a 6-16 record overall and 3-9 in the conference with a 7th place finsih in the nine-team conference.  Back then, I believe, only the ACC and Southern Coference had tournaments to select their representatives in the tournament. (No more than one team per conference was allowed in the tournament.) In the Southern Conference Tournament, GW beat Virginia Tech, Citadel and William &  Mary to earn GW's second trip to the NCAA. GW lost to Princetopn in the first round to finish the season   9-17.  That GW team ranks among with the teams with worst winning percentage to make the tournament with 39.1 percentage. In the modern era, beginning in 1985 when the tournament expanded to 64 teams, only Fairfield (1997), UCF (1996) and Florida International (1995), all with 37.9 winning percentages had worse winning percentages than the 1960-61 GW team.

I am not one to easily blame officials, but they are fault here missing the call. Duquesne announcers agree that they blew it saying after replay that they could see why GW doesn’t think that’s a foul, but saying, it is what it is. And that’s correct. We lose again. A last place season. How many on this board would have predicted last place?

Was that really our play? Buchanan drive to basket and no passing the ball.

Thankful for Max. I fear he will be gone after this season.

We really need Bishop to step up. Frustrating he is not hitting his shots.

Handicapping the transfer portal is a dangerous game. What should happen and what often does happen are likely two very different things. Too many voices in these kids ears - some of them without the best motives. As a result, you should assume that absolutely no one is a lock to stay or leave. After that, just sit back and let the process play out. That's all you can do.

Absolutely. It's all on CC. Coaches earn their huge salaries now by ususally recruiting one year at a time. CC tried looking to the future with his recruits for this season, which at the time seemed smart. Well, that's over. So now there is no choice -- recruit for each season. That means recruiting the players he wants to stay and recruiting quality players to turn the progtram around.

Great to have a winning record last season in conference play, but who would have predicted before this season or even after our 3-1 start that we would be headed for last place in the A-10.

To stay out of the bottom of the A-10 next season, CC, obviously, needs to do some bigtime recruiting in the portal.

Hope I am wrong, but can’t believe Buchanan (or any of top freshmen in A-10, for that matter) will be back next year. Chance to play at a Power 5 school that wins and pays much better. Why should they stay? Makes no sense. CC plan to recruit freshmen transfers who would stay because they would have to sit out a year made great sense until judge said NCAA couldn’t make transfers sit out a year. No wonder CC was so upset with ruling criticizing judges “who didn’t know a basketball from a football”
We better recruit like crazy from lower conferences.

See, there is a reason to be hopeful.

And here's another reason to be hopeful because we are playing UMass.
In the 2018-19 season we lost 4 in row, beat UMass, lost 5 in row, beat UMass (in the A-10 Tournament). Under MoJo we finished 9-24 (4-14)
The last time we lost 11 in a row was the 2008-09 season under Hobbs. We finished 10-18 (4-12)

It would be interesting to know why Dean and Brown didn't return for this season. Did CC believe he was going to recruit a better big man than Stretch? So were Dean and Brown essentially told their playing time would be reduced. It's not like they left to be starters. And it's hard to argue that Stretch is an improvement over having Dean and Brown together this season, or even having one of them. And then there's the fact that Brown has another year of eligibility for next season.
Brown is averaging 13.4 minutes with 6 points, 2.2 trb, 0.5 assists, 0.5 blocks, 70 percent FG
Dean is averaging 12.5 minutes with 3.5 points, 2.0 tab, 0.3 assists, 0.3 blocks, 73 percent FG
Stretch averaging 25 minutes with 3.7 points, 5.7 tab, 0.3 assists, 2.7 blocks, 55 percent FG
