Couldn't help but notice we went up 21 spots on Kenpom to 172 tonight, right below Rhode Island. That means we are higher then that Big East school based in D.C..

Jarvis also coached Karl Hobbs in high school which I always found odd.

I must be old, the only opposing school gym I ever saw GW play was at McDonough. I know this subject has been beat to death but its been 43 years! What is wrong with those people at Georgetown? They are close enough the team could easily walk there. I think the only closer Div 1 schools are Penn and Drexel.

At the 3.52 mark of the first half, by my count, Lasalle had 19 second chance points, half of their total

Unfortunately, with the new mix of players, Yuta has been relegated to mop up minutes. Maybe the bad loss to the Bulls last night will get the coach to rethink this. One recent fan article argued he should be partially used as back up center which instantly made me think of Magic Johnson in the 1980 NBA finals when he scored 42 points as Jabbar's replacement. Not that I think Yuta has reached that level.

I believe the Childe Harold had the Ramones in late 1975, maybe the first punk concert in D.C. Hard to imagine because it looked like a townouse from the outside.

It was Gillies I believe. They also had quarts of Iron City for 50 cents. Don't forget the first rate Science Fiction bookstore that was also on the block. Remeber going to the Circle theatre for triple features like The Last Wave, Greaser's Palace and Jimi Plays Berkley which would take up half a day. For bars it was Mr. Henrys, Red Lion, BRickskeller, Crazy Horse in Georgetown and Dimetri's and the other greek resturant next door on M Street.

Even though he only played one year, Bob Tallent did score 29 points a game.

I vaguely remeber seeing Ralph Sampson play at the Smith center in 1982. He only went on to win three Naismith awards.

I've always thought the GW Revolution would be a good back-up name, despite it sounding like a major league soccer team. A lot of other obvious names may have trademark issues. Just make sure it's better than the "Commanders."

If it wasn't just basketball players I would have thought they would have selected Meyers Taylor. How many former DMV team members have three Olympic medals.

Didn't one of the worst shooters in team history, Tom Tate, hit a near mid court shot to beat Virginia Tech or is my memory totally gone? Maybe that was to send the game into overtime. I do remember Tate and Samson seemed to be the best students in my calculus class. I would still take back most of these buzzer beaters if I could eliminate Craig Esherick's shot that beat us at Georgetown. Les Anderson's monster performance was erased by that.
