GW lost to Division II Florida Tech during Kuester's final year.

Yes, but the colonists did plenty of bad things themselves. That's what's getting lost here by many of the Olds.

You know, I'm 50+ myself, but God you both sound old. The world evolves. Plenty of the colonists were terrible people who enslaved millions and decimated the native population. Those are, as the kids say, Big Facts. So yeah, we didn't worry much about that in our day, but they do and don't want to use the name. So sad ... let's face it, it was always a sucky name.

What about Yinka? You know, the Sports Illustrated Freshman of the Year who carried our team to the Sweet 16? Certainly in death his sin of leaving early to support his family should be absolved.

St. Louis seemingly has a D-2 game versus one of its neighboring schools every season.

I like the Revolutionaries (or Revs for short), though I think the Generals would work as well. Please no Hippos, unless you are dropping to D3. Those kinda names might work for UC Santa Cruz (Banana Slugs), but not for schools competing at a higher level.

It’s getting to the point where the average family can’t even afford to go grocery shopping, let alone drive to the grocery store, and yet all you weirdos can talk about is a riot almost two years ago. So, so, so pathetically out-of-touch. November can’t come soon enough.

That's the world we live in, champ. Every country is experiencing it. But I'm guessing you already know that, but are too under the spell of our American charlatan to care.

It's time, as the Hatchet proposed in 1990 or so, to change the name to the Running Revolutionaries!

Dayton's three terrible non-con losses in a row were before Nov. 20. That used to mean something. Maybe it doesn't anymore.

Truthfully, I think the A-10 is being hurt by the strong showings of the WCC and Mountain West this year. They are only going to give the non-Power 6 so many bids, you know?

Obviously a Baltimore Colt picture but at first thinking it might be a GW football picture and looking up at the stands, my immediate thought was that the football team drew about as well as the basketball team.

Anyone know roughly how many came out to watch GW Football in person?  Can't imagine it was more than several thousand but perhaps I'd be surprised.

When I was at the Hatchet I wrote an article about the 25th anniversary of GW dropping football. At its final game against Villanova at D.C. Stadium (now RFK), they drew 1,000 fans.

There was a GW wrestler, Wade something, in the late 1980s, who held the NCAA record for most victories in a season. Evidently he would wrestle up in weight. As a thank you, GW then dropped the wrestling program a year later.

After Koul's sophomore year, the Sporting News ranked him as the third best NBA prospect in college. I feel really bad that he never came out early.

I seem to recall that when Shawnta was in France and at the top of his career, he made about $1M per season. I thinks low-to-mid hundreds of thousands is more the going rate.

We're all of different GW generations, but for me the late night eating spots were Mr. Henry's, then later on Fridays and Milo's (great white pizza).  Best pizza of all, though, was Dove & Rainbow.

I remember watching GW win at #1-ranked UMASSholes at the Dove & Rainbow with you. Mr. Henry´s had Oly on tap and would sell to underage students (burgers were OK, too).

Mr. Henry's would get tons of high school kids coming from VA to drink circa 1988-92. In fact, we started trying to get our younger siblings served there, even if they had no intention of drinking it. The winner was my now-wife's younger sister, who was 13 at the time but looked about 10. (She didn't actually drink it).
