Moderator, can we move this back to the basketball thread so more people will see it?  Sort of important, don't you agree?

It may be important ,as are many things in our world, but its not basketball related. It would just lead to a slippery slope of "important" discussions ending up in a basketball thread. BTW I'm not minimizing the importance of the discussion in any way. Lets just keep our basketball thread as a place to get away from politics

New episode of GW Basketball Insiders is here! We talked with Matt Colpoys about the transfer portal additions, the offseason as a whole, high school recruiting philosphy/what we can expect from the freshmen next year, his thoughts on the Fordham recruiting violations, the scheduling philosophy, and a bunch of other things.

Let us know what you think! I found the scheduling part interesting. It seems like the plan is to improve the schedule considerably next year. He also confirmed a few rumors about next year's schedule too.

Transfer from Georgetown

BTW he was recruited by Miami  according to the interview video dmvpiranha posted in the recruits section. So Caputo was familiar with him just like the Castro situation.

If he's meant as depth to back up Castro and slide into a big line up, he seems like a good get. I think we cam learn from Castro, that stats can be deceptive.
Things will become much more clear when we see who else is added to the front court.

I think that’s a little unfair to Castro. His aggregate stats didn’t pop because of playing time. But his advanced metrics in the time he did get were not that far off what he was this year.

His Ortg was 110, effective FG% 68%, combined rebounding rate 29.9, block rate 4.9, steals rate 1.4.

All of those improved this year (except FG), but those were outstanding rates already in limited time.

Hunger’s numbers are not like that, but I suspect there’s a lot of untapped potential that can hopefully be realized dropping down a level.

I'll definitely defer to you on when it comes to a deeper dive on stats. Good points
I just try not to jump to conclusions in general.
What do you think the coaching staff would be happy with in terms of #'s

BREAKING: North Florida transfer guard Jasai Miles has committed to Indiana, his agency

Well our PF is no more. The clowns in admissions saw to that. He wanted to commit but he wasn't waiting until Moe, Larry and Curly in admissions figured it out. I won't say his name but somebody mentioned it up the thread relating to a Midwest PF. He's going elsewhere ... perhaps to a perennial top 10 program. Ugh. We make it really hard on ourselves at GW. Mostly self-inflicted. We say we want to win but the rest of the school needs to get on board. Some of our best players had issues with admissions. Had the current regime been in place, you never would have seen Yuta, Mescheriakov or Koul at GW. Wash rinse repeat. Just nonsensical when you consider that the same standards don't apply to the general student population.

Did they deny him or were they just taking too long
