Playing us at home does nothing for the bigger schools. We’d have to be top 30 to make it worthwhile to buy us. They’d rather pay to blow out a Q4 team at home than lose a Q2 home game to us. They get enough Q1 and Q2 games playing their conference schedule.

We did an ok job getting some neutral site games against USF and UF so I’d imagine we'll try to do more of that.

Why would GW agree to home and homes with low majors? That does nothing for *our* resume.

The best thing that could happen for GW is somehow getting the MWC/A10 challenge up and running again or starting something annually with the American.

Again, 9 out of the other 13 A10 teams had a weaker OOC schedule than GW. The #1 team (SLU) had the 315th ranked OOC and they seemed to have no problem in conference play. The same goes for GMU and Joe's. I get the complaints about the weak schedule in previous years under CC, but not this year. Blaming the team's underperformance this season on scheduling feels lazy. This team's flaws were exposed against a ten win Delaware team and the lack of on-court chemistry + missed layups was already on display then. They didn't need to play Arizona or Michigan to reveal the issues.

GW literally played three of the five schools you mentioned last year. Not sure what the point is of being so up in arms about a single non-D1 game between exams and players going home for winter break. That's usually when their minds are somewhere else and bad losses occur. Does playing another mediocre D1 team really change the team's trajectory? Also who is jumping up and down to play Vermont? They're not regional, and have fallen off in the NIL era (242nd and 239th in the last two years). They couldn't even win the America East this season in a down year for the conference (arguably the worst the conference has been in like 25 years).

Agree with you guys. Lipitz forced the change in scheduling philosophy even though he was relatively new and I’m hoping to see even more of his influence this year.

Hoping to see some schedule developments soon.

Does anyone know if there has been any progress with scheduling a regular season series, or standalone game, with Georgetown? The scrimmage was awesome last year and things seemed to be trending in a positive direction in terms of future games. Would love an update if anyone has heard something.

Amazing how the conference of a team that has won 2 NCAA championships and 1 runner up in the last 4 years is now considered mid major…

Looks like a nice competitive field.  A bit surprised by A10 with 2 teams and AAC with 2.  Spicy. 

Very nice to be included in The Dallas Tournament.  This is a great alternative to scheduling three road games as one-offs against P5 teams.  Based on this past season's KenPom rankings, three of the 8 schools finished in the top 72 (Utah State-27, Tulsa-56, Nevada-72), two more are within the top 100 (GW and Colorado State), and two others are just a bit behind (San Francisco-122, Florida Atlantic-126.  Only Loyola, Chicago was egregiously bad and I have to believe last year was an aberration for them.
